The Clover Collection

Clover is my first in-house designed collection with Lumbers Jewellers.

My first influence for this collection was as a collaboration between myself and the directors of the company. We wanted to create a collection with meaning, feeling and sentiment, with a sense of power and longstanding just as Lumbers. Since 1881, Lumbers has looked to offer incredible service and knowledge teamed with amazing quality and unique products. The Clover collection is made for everyone, including children.

When I sat down to start designing a new collection, I asked myself one simple question…
Why do we buy our loved one’s jewellery? For that exact reason, a symbol of love.
It then didn’t take me long to look to nature for my next influence. I starting with the form of a heart and looked to nature to try and find this form. I found a Clover leaf which replicated this beautiful heart shape. As I delved deeper into the rarer forms of the clover, there is in fact a rare 6 leaf clover that has some thoughtful meaning around it. Not only does the 6-leaf clover represent Love and Luck like the 4-leaf version, but it also represents Longevity. This then gave more meaning to the piece for me and a symbolic influence for the collection due to our long history in Leicester.
The shape itself is not male or female, it is simply one of the rarest forms of Love. The fact that “Clover” has Love at the centre of it made this a easy choice when starting to design this collection.

The Clover collection has a number of other special factors, as well as being in-house designed as a collaboration by myself and directors of Lumbers. It is made here in Britain in our own workshop, thus carrying a full British hallmark on the reverse of our Lumbers insignia. The optional, exclusively carved for us, South Sea mother of pearl, is also created by nature and no two pieces will be the same.

The collection is over and above a bespoke collection. You are able to customise your piece of jewellery right up to the metal, size and even stones used.
We think it is best for you to visit us in-store so we can walk you through the different variants and customisation options available – however for those you not local to Leicester we have a taster for you below:

There are 3 size variants to choose from, the 9mm version which is suitable as a pendant and is small enough even for children. It is also great for stud earrings or can be used as a dress shirt button.
The mid-size 14mm version which is not only suitable as a pendant, a more impressive stud earring, or can be used to create a dramatic drop earring when used in conjunction with the smaller clover. It is also great for combining to make beautiful steps in a bracelet or sautoir; or can even be used as a lapel pin.
The largest 18mm version then can make a statement pendant, dramatic earrings, double drop pendant and even cufflinks.

Once the desired size has been selected it’s a case of customising to the individual. The choice of metals are 950 Grade Platinum, 18 Carat Rose Gold and 18 Carat Yellow Gold.
Each piece can then be done as a fully single colour unit or a combination.
For example, you might want a Yellow Gold frame, with a Platinum centre, or an all Rose Gold piece. Essentially it is whatever your heart desires.

Your piece can then be finished with a simple beaded edge frame. Or you can opt to set with your choice of brilliant cut Diamonds (white or yellow), Rubies, Blue Sapphires, Pink Sapphires or even Tsavorites.
You can then chose the centre to your piece, being the carved double sided white mother of pearl, a metal centre in Platinum, 18 Carat Yellow or Rose Gold – all with the clover engraving. Finally, you could have the centre pave set with diamonds, or any other gemstone of your choosing.

We have gone one step further with the Clover collection, ensuring that every fine detail has been thought about.
The reverse side of the Clover pendant have not been left unadorned. Small openings behind the stone set frame have been added to create a delicate detail, and if choosing a stone set centre, the reverse of this section has then been finished with a honeycomb detailing. The reasoning for this is to ensure if the piece flips over on the wrist or around the neck it is not just a plain piece of metal, it has been made to look as beautiful on both sides.

You can also choose from our ready to wear stock pieces found online and in-store. Alternatively, you have the choice to customise your piece to make it even more unique and special. If you are looking for a gift for someone special, this is a great choice. You can incorporate birthstones into this, you could also look at anniversary stones or something as simple as their favourite colours.

This thoughtful British Made piece can be created in around 3 weeks from placing your order.
If you like the ideal of something unique and special, come and visit us in-store so you can play around with your own combination of metals, colours, and stones. Alternatively, some of our ready to wear pieces are online ready to buy.

With great Love, Luck & Longevity -
