About Longines
The story of Longines dates back to 1832 when a young Swiss watchmaker named Auguste Agassiz began producing timepieces in Saint-Imier, a small town in the Swiss Jura region. With a long list of accomplishments under its belt, including the world's first watch with an overall thickness of less than 2mm; the Feuille d'Or, Longines became of the most respected global watch brands.
Longines also became one of the first companies to produce watches designed for aviation, with its timepieces used by pilots and navigators on some of the earliest flights. Charles Lindbergh, Roald Amundsen, and Amelia Earhart put their trust, and to some extent, their lives in Longines’s hands.
