For 175 years, Cross has been manufacturing fine writing instruments such as fountain pens, rollerballs, ballpoints, and pencils. These pens are popular in the UK and even worldwide. It was in Providence, Rhode Island, in 1846 that Richard Cross created the Cross company, America’s oldest manufacturer of fine writing instruments and official supplier to the White House.
The company is known for its innovations — among them, the first pen with a refillable ink cartridge and the propel-repel mechanical pencil. Today, Cross Pens is a global brand, and its products are sold in over 100 countries. Despite its long history and global reach, Cross remains committed to its founding principles of innovation, quality, and craftsmanship.
Cross is renowned for its fine design and smooth ink flow. Inspired by Art Deco and Manhattan architecture, Cross pens are highly sought after for their aerodynamic styling and gleaming chrome finishes. Many of the Cross designs have remained unchanged for decades, such as the Classic Century and Townsend, known as the preferred pen of the US president.
