The Oscars: Jewellery Inspiration

As each year rolls round, we love to admire the jewellery seen on the red carpet of the Oscars. In years gone by we’ve seen some incredible jewellery which have been the centrepiece of outfits. That being said, most of us would be unable to walk the city streets or country retreats wearing such dazzling pieces. That’s why we have taken inspiration from The Oscars and given you alternatives which would work for day to day wear and also dressing up. Keep reading to find out more!

Halle Berry is a style icon herself. Let’s face it she could wear a bin bag and still look stylish! Her outfit this year was a stunning white dress with simple gold hoops and ring. The roses on her dress create an eye catching visual, feminine, yet bold. Our choice for day to day wear would be this pair of 18 carat rose gold and diamond flower cluster earrings. Mimicking the flowers one Halle’s dress, these earrings add a touch of sparkle and glamour creating a statement piece for the day and glamour for the evening.

Emily Blunt kept her outfit very simple and chic this year, letting her three drop earrings do the talking. Wearing chandelier earrings (especially when adorned with gemstones and diamonds) can be heavy on your ears. For a evening or a photoshoot they are a great choice for a statement look. However, we think a single drop with a pop of colour works just as well. These 18 carat gold pear cut ruby and diamond cluster drop earrings are a great choice for that statement drop style without pulling and tugging on your ears.

Jessica Chastain in Gucci

Jessica Chastain is a fan of these collars which feature rich greens and diamonds. The green compliments her fiery red hair which is probably why she always looks so fantastic. A collar of this nature is quite bold and probably wouldn’t work for taking the kids to school or taking the dog for a walk. We really like this Tsavorite and diamond pendant as it can be worn with pretty much any outfit. Worn over polo-necks it would looks incredible and due to the drop style of this piece wearing it with an evening gown would also work beautifully. When worn this piece looks far more expensive than its actual price tag.

Deepika Padukone in Cartier

Deepika Padukone is a classy Bollywood actress who oozes poise and sophistication. She opted for a statement piece which looks like citrine and diamond. We wanted to show you a statement piece… OK, we agree maybe not a great choice for daytime wear but for dressing up an evening gown, specially an off the shoulder or bustier, this would get people talking. It’s a huge 123.54ct citrine pendant with a double halo of diamonds and caged burst effect. What we love about this is it can be worn elegantly with a stunning simple dress, or it can be layers with other jewellery and put on a chunky chain for a more fresh and edgy look.

Elizabeth Olsen in Cartier

Elizabeth Olsen is wearing a pair of stunning Cartier earrings. Earrings are always a great way of dressing up and outfit for an event, however when you are trying to go for a day to day style we think necklaces and rings are a better choice as they are more versatile. The 18 carat rose gold diamond burst pendant is a great choice for stealing Elizabeth’s style. The diamonds in this piece sparkle beautifully. Again, this could be worn over a polo neck, to the office or dressed up for an event. This would be a great choice for those who love to layer their jewellery as it would sit beautifully with other necklaces; go super-edgy by mixing metals.
