Proving that aviation is still a crucial part of their DNA, Breitling have released this exceptional Breitling Aviator 8 Automatic 41 Curtiss P-40 Warhawk watch to commemorate the maker of the iconic P-40 Warhawk aeroplane. Curtiss Warhawk was a renowned American aircraft manufacturer who became the largest supplier of aircrafts in the United States during World War II by supplying planes in large numbers to the U.S Armed Forces. Their most famous plane was the bold-looking P-40 Warhawk, the very plane that has inspired this Breitling Aviator 8 watch.
Measuring to 41mm in size, the case of this Breitling Curtiss P-40 Warhawk watch is crafted from black DLC coated stainless steel and fitted with a ratcheted bidirectional bezel. Accents of red can be found on the red bezel marker at 12 o clock as well as on the tip of the seconds hand to reflect the same paint used on the nose of the P-40 Warhawk plane. The military green dial also tributes the main colour of the aircraft while also providing the perfect backdrop to bold Arabic numerals and propeller shaped hour and minute hands coated in Superluminova.
Embraced within the case of this Breitling Aviator 8 Automatic 41 Curtiss P-40 Warhawk watch is the COSC certified Breitling 17 mechanical movement which equips the watch with hour, minute and seconds function, a date window at 3 o clock and a power reserve of 38 hours. The automatic calibre is also kept hidden behind a closed case back which has been beautifully engraved with an image of the famous P-40 plane and its distinctive shark mouth logo.
