About Breitling

Breitling was founded in 1884 by Léon Breitling in the Swiss village of Saint-Imier. Initially, the company focused on producing chronographs and other timing instruments for industrial, scientific, and sporting purposes. In 1915, Breitling introduced the first wrist-worn chronograph, which was designed for military pilots and marked the beginning of the brand's focus on aviation watches.

During World War II, Breitling became a major supplier of aviation watches to militaries around the world, including the Royal Air Force and the United States Army Air Forces. After the war, Breitling continued to produce watches for pilots and became known for its Navitimer and Cosmonaut models, which were used by astronauts in space.

Watches for adventures

Today the iconic brand is one of the world's only major watch brands to equip all its models with chronometer-certified movements, the ultimate token of precision. Breitling is also one of the rare companies to produce its own mechanical chronograph movements, entirely developed and manufactured in its own workshops.

A synonym to luxury, Breitling is a global brand with a reputation for producing precision watches adorned by celebrated athletes like Yiannis Antetokoumpo and the principal dancer Misty Copeland, aviation pioneer Bertrand Piccard and all adventurers.
